As a project funded by the governments of China and Canada, the school is jointly established by the Chinese Foreign Affairs Service Bureau, the Ministry of education of New Brunswick, Canada and Canada Royal Education Group, and managed by Canada royal education group. The main purpose of the school is to provide high-quality educational services for foreign diplomats, returned scholars and children of people from all over the world who reside in Beijing. This is a school with complete facilities, coeducation and no religious tendency. The school has staff from nearly 49 countries and regions around the world.
About 60% of the teachers in the school are from Canada, and the rest are from all over the world, including the UK, Australia and the United States.
The school recruits non-Chinese (Hong Kong) students from 1.5 to 18 years old and is committed to providing opportunities for further study in Canada and other world-class institutions. Canadian International School provides good learning and living conditions for students to cultivate leadership, academic ability and personal development. Here, the cultivation of leadership is different from personal responsibility and personal success, but it is not mandatory. The main advantages of studying in Canadian International School are centralized learning, flexible teaching and paying attention to the all-round development of students. Canadian International School treats all students equally in intellectual and personal development and provides students with many opportunities to participate in extracurricular and amateur activities. The school provides North American teaching methods for most students who immigrate to China. The curriculum is based on the Canadian standard curriculum, taught by well-trained Canadian teachers, and supported by Chinese teaching assistants with proficient English. Each class is composed of 18-25 students. The source rate of non-native English students is strictly controlled to ensure that all students have a good learning environment. In k-g5 class, students can have classes like playing, but they still need discipline. The requirements for students in grades 6-12 will be stricter.
