Hangzhou CIS School for Children of Foreign Personnel was licensed by the Zhejiang Provincial Education Department in February 2015. The campus is located in Greentown Yuhua School and well equipped with facilities. HZCIS offers boarding and education to Year 10 students only. In the school year of 2019-2020, there were 112 Year 10 students coming from the Chinese International School Hong Kong campus. Currently there are 42 staff members, including 22 expatriate and Chinese teachers, as well as 12 teaching assistants and 8 administrative staff. Putting “Growth” at the center of student development, HZCIS fosters the idea of “China as a classroom”, immersing international curriculum in diverse Chinese cultures. HZCIS emphasizes exploration and  innovation to implement multidisciplinary learning and project-based learning. Through the one-year unique HZCIS experience, students from Hong Kong immerse themselves in an independent learning environment, which allows them to gain firsthand experience of the rapid growth and development in Hangzhou and China. Throughout the years since its inception, HZCIS has gained the trust and endorsement from many years of parents and students. Ever since the launch of Hangzhou CIS, it has been constantly exploring new features. The community has highly recognized the academic and character growth of our students. It is worth mentioning that in August 2020, 5 of our students showed their innovator’s DNA for their start-up project “Ambrosiia”and won first prize in the Asia Edition of the 2020 Columbia Business School Model Entrepreneurship Competition.
