Guangzhou American International School was established in 1981. It is the first international school in southern China and a non-profit international school. Today, the school has two campuses, covering 12 grades from preschool to high school, with more than 1,000 students from 50 countries, and has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the International Baccalaureate Organization ( IBO) authorized and passed the World Class Instructional Design and Testing (WIDA). In the Guangzhou American International School, the curriculum is all designed by experienced educators and professors, dedicated to cultivating students’ academic ability and emotional intelligence on the premise of ensuring high-level learning, and encouraging each child to develop their potential. There are 95 professional teachers in Guangzhou American International School. 62%of them are from the US, 15% are from Canada, 11% are from Australia, 5% are from Europe and 7% are from Asia. All teachers have teaching professional qualification certificates, and more than half of the teachers have a master’s degree or above. All of the teachers have at least 3 years of work experience and many have taught in international schools.
