Founded in 2018 by Ambright Education Group, a pioneer in international education in China, Shanghai Thomas School is a private, non-profit institution offering a 12-year education program for up to 1,600 students. The school includes three departments: Primary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School. Approved by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Civil Affairs Bureau, Shanghai Thomas School officially changed its name in Chinese to Shanghai Ansheng School on May 30, 2022. Despite the name change, the school’s core resources, strengths, philosophy, and practices remain unchanged. The new name, “Ambright” (meaning “peaceful”), symbolizes a fresh chapter in the school’s educational journey while maintaining its long-standing commitment to excellence. The school continues to uphold its motto “To be Virtuous, Scholarly, and Globally Engaged” and remains focused on providing a high-end, local education with a global outlook, solid academics, diverse cultural exposure, and strong teacher support.
