Founded in June 1996, Suzhou Singapore International School is the first foreign children’s school in Suzhou invested and managed by Zhongxin Suzhou Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd. By the end of 2005, the total investment of the school was US $20 million to provide international education in kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools for foreign children in Suzhou and adjacent areas. The school has opened grade 12 and completed the 15-year consistent education model from grade 1 of kindergarten to senior high school. The school became a member school of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in January 2001 and was authorized by the International Diploma organization’s The Middle Years Programme (MYP) and high school Diploma Programme (DP) respectively, that is, our students can continue to study in 1182 IBO member schools in 101 countries around the world, and the academic qualifications of our high school graduates are also recognized by universities all over the world. Over the years, the enrollment scale of the school has continued to expand. From 1998 to 2005, the average annual growth rate of the number of students was 24%. Today, the number of students enrolled is 1100, from 27 countries and regions respectively. This comprehensive school building recruits’ students from kindergarten to secondary school level. Each school has its own boarding and alighting place and entrance. It has special regional planning and slightly other architectural design features, but it is combined with public administrative building and performance space, and a general entrance is set up. The whole campus is equipped with teaching facilities, sports and recreational facilities for all ages, performance venues, group learning centers and a dormitory, which can accommodate a total of 4000 students. The overall planning concept of the school is to create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure that the campus maintains a certain level of security. The central area has an atrium space as a gathering place for visitors, parents and night school students. Each school forms a cluster pattern in its own campus, just like a wall, which is flexible and allows different learning backgrounds and ways. The design of the school emphasizes the connection between indoor and outdoor space by introducing the outdoor landscape and the protruding platform of the amusement area. This also extends the classroom outward to the corridor, but it is transformed into learning streets and learning corners. Suzhou Singapore International School is a school for foreign children as a supporting facility of Suzhou Industrial Park, our education service is for investors and their families in Suzhou and adjacent areas. The school recruits’ teachers with rich professional knowledge and teaching experience all over the world to work in our school. There are 132 teachers, including 102 foreign teachers from 11 countries. The whole school has moved into a new campus covering an area of 14 hectares and a construction area of 39000 square meters in phase I and deepened and widened the existing courses of the school, involving academic, sports, art, drama and other aspects, to achieve a comprehensive and balanced development of students’ quality.
