The King’s School Shenzhen, located at No.375 Yuewan Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, with its Pre-Prep School at No.2 Yuefeng Road, Nanshan, is the first overseas branch of the historic King’s School, Canterbury, UK, established in 2019. The Shenzhen campus includes three departments: the Pre-Prep School, Primary and Lower Secondary School, and Upper Secondary (High School). In Fall 2022, a new campus with facilities for Grades 1-8 (Pre School) and Grades 9-12 (Senior School) opened, located just 4 km from the current Pre-Prep School. The Pre-Prep School follows the English Early Years Educational Framework, maintaining small class sizes with an average of 20 students. Each classroom is staffed by a native English teacher, a bilingual teacher, and one or more teaching assistants, along with dedicated teachers for art, music, and P.E. The Primary and Lower Secondary School (Grades 1-9) is open to all nationalities, offering bilingual integrated courses that combine Chinese compulsory education, British, and international curriculum elements. This approach meets Chinese students’ requirements for compulsory education while integrating international perspectives, particularly through courses from Cambridge primary and junior middle school curriculums. Non-Chinese students study alongside local peers in non-language courses, enriching the multicultural classroom environment. The High School, covering Grades 10-12 (Years 11-13 in the UK), focuses on international senior high school courses, including IGCSEs and A Levels from Cambridge, preparing students for entry into leading universities around the world.
