Based in Intersection of Poyang Road and LuShui Road Tianjin. The curriculum of Tianjin Seed Kindergarten provides a complete set of projects to balance the development of ideas, skills and characteristics. Their approach focuses on the overall growth of children, in addition to academic improvement, while meeting the needs of social, physical, emotional and cultural development.
Their project focuses on guiding inquiry, collaboration and communication as a teaching method to provide an environment to promote problem-solving and critical thinking as well as the development of subject ability.
During early childhood, students’ understanding, processing and language expression skills develop in amazing ways. Inspired by language education, the students of Tianjin Seed Kindergarten will master early language and communication skills, which is very important for further success of the school and beyond.
(1) English
It is important for students to understand, comment and participate in the English world, economy and culture. English learning encourages the development of individuals’ reading and writing skills, so that they can have the ability to distinguish and creative thinking, aesthetic appreciation, and creativity, and actively participate in a democratic society in the 21st century. Through the English course from kindergarten and the reading and writing project, students are initially committed to spelling and vocabulary learning, pronunciation awareness and writing. This lays a good foundation for the development of writing and language, as well as many aspects of reading, writing, speaking and listening with the development of students’ learning.
(2) Chinese language and culture
Although English learning and the continuous development of important writing skills are basic elements of the curriculum, students are still part of a global dialogue in which multilingualism is beneficial. As an American school with an international perspective, they believe that a strong language curriculum can improve the educational process and encourage our students to develop different perspectives, cultural understanding and empathy.
From the early childhood class, kindergarten students have the opportunity to learn Chinese. The kindergarten has three main goals for students interested in learning Mandarin: 1) establish a solid foundation for high-frequency vocabulary. Frequent and continuous exposure to high-frequency words greatly improves the comfort of students when they begin to communicate in a new language. 2) Study basic grammar rules, sentence structure and discourse patterns. When students start learning Chinese, it seems to be daunting. However, the introduction of common sentence patterns and frequent practice in relevant environments can greatly improve the speed of students’ language ability development. 3) Develop cultural knowledge and global awareness. Finally, for junior students in the Chinese classroom, a key goal is to provide opportunities for them to understand the similarities and differences between their culture and the Chinese population around the world. Students have the opportunity to take classes, taste new food, understand the daily life of Chinese students of the same age, and understand and celebrate various important Chinese holidays.
